This silyanka is a quiet prayer woven in beads. Simple in form yet profound in meaning, it originates from Muravankurylovetsky District, Vinnytsia region (first half of the 20th century). Its mesh-like shape resembles a luminous net of protection that embraces the neck with light and calm. Such necklaces were called “zharda” — a sacred term once used for talismanic ornaments connecting heaven and earth, spirit and body. This piece is an energetic lattice that holds harmony, balance, and peace within its structure. Replica by Comely UA, recreated from a historical photo featured in the book “Patsiorky, tsiatky, koralyky” by Volodymyr Shchbria.

Symbolism:
The open mesh represents the woven fabric of the world — the network of life itself.
In folk belief, such cross-threaded structures “caught” negativity, letting only pure energy flow through.
Colored circles placed evenly across the pattern form a cosmic map:
Red circle in the center — heart, life force, ancestral bloodline.
Blue circles — water and sky, purity, spiritual clarity.
Yellow circles — sunlight, warmth, abundance.
Green border — spring, life, and protection, symbolically “sealing” the energy of the piece.
The form is circular and continuous — like life itself. It speaks softly: “I am centered. I am balanced. I am protected.”
Each Comely UA piece is handcrafted. Subtle variations in color or bead alignment are marks of authenticity — traces of time, touch, and the maker’s soul.
Comely UA — a movement where beauty becomes strength and tradition turns into living energy.
