This gerdan originates from Neresnytsia village in the Tyachiv district and dates back to the 1920s. It represents a distinctive example of early 20th-century Transcarpathian beadwork. The pattern is built on rhythmic diamond geometry with flowing white lines inside — a motif symbolizing movement and continuity. Its narrow ribbon form and clear structure are characteristic of Zakarpattia gerdans of that period. Recreated by Comely UA with deep respect for the historical design.

Symbolism:
The diamond motif in Ukrainian ornamentation represents cultivated land, order, and fertility — a symbol of structure and stability. The flowing white lines inside the diamonds are interpreted as water or the stream of life — a sign of renewal and movement.
Colors carry meaning:
Red — life force and lineage strength.
Blue — depth and spiritual connection.
White — purity and light.
Green — earth and renewal.
Black edging — protection and boundary.
This Gerdan preserves the voice of Transcarpathia while speaking in the present.
Each Comely UA piece is handcrafted. Subtle variations in color or bead alignment are marks of authenticity — traces of time, touch, and soul.
Comely UA — when heritage continues in a modern rhythm.
