This lunnytsia is inspired by ancient women’s pendants once worn across the lands of Kyivan Rus and throughout Slavic tradition. The crescent moon shape was one of the most recognizable feminine symbols, closely connected to the cycles of life, womanhood, fertility, and protection.
At the center of the composition is a cross-shaped motif surrounded by circular elements and geometric ornamentation. In traditional decorative art, symbols like these were often associated with harmony, continuity of life, and the connection between generations.
The red velvet ribbon brings a contemporary softness to the piece while preserving the spirit of an ancient feminine amulet.
An original interpretation by Comely UA, inspired by the historical forms of Ukrainian women’s adornments.

Symbolism:
A lunnytsia was never just jewelry. In women’s tradition, it symbolized a connection to inner strength, natural rhythms, and the feminine lineage carried through generations.
The crescent form represented:

  • feminine energy;
  • cycles and renewal;
  • fertility and the continuity of life;
  • protection of the woman and the home.

In traditional adornment, such symbols were often worn as signs of feminine dignity, maturity, and connection to one’s ancestry.
The silver-toned metal gives the piece a sense of quiet strength and timelessness, while the deep red ribbon evokes vitality, dignity, and inner fire.
