Silyanka from Toporivtsi, Horodenka District

This silyanka radiates the sunlit energy of Prykarpattia — bright, joyful, alive. Its colors carry the warmth of the earth and the melody of celebration — just as women once sang while threading each bead, weaving their stories into art. It recreates an authentic design from Toporivtsi village, Horodenka District, Ivano-Frankivsk region (1930s). The soft, curved shape embraces the neck like a ray of light, while the floral rows bloom with the spirit of spring, joy, and the continuity of life. This piece is more than adornment — it’s a beam of heritage brought back to life through color and light. Traditional Ukrainian design recreated by Comely UA after the historical reconstruction by Liliya Kvitka.

Symbolism:
The main motif — a chain of flowers — symbolizes renewal, beauty, and feminine power.
In Ukrainian tradition, the flower represents life itself, while the cross-shaped center stands for the sun — the sacred source of light and blessing.
The lower fringed border recalls water and flow — a moving pattern that, according to folk belief, wards off negativity and protects the wearer.

Yellow — sunlight, harvest, abundance.
Green — earth, growth, harmony.
Red — love, life force, lineage.
Blue — water, calm, clarity.
White — purity, light, spirit.
