This piece is a traditional silyanka, recreated from a historical design documented in “Patsiorky, Tsiatky, Koralyky” from the collection of Volodymyr Shchybrya. The original dates to the first half of the 20th century and originates from the Sniatyn district of the Ivano-Frankivsk region in Western Ukraine. Its semicircular form, intricate edging, and dense beadwork reflect the distinctive aesthetic of Pokuttia adornment. Traditional diamond and cross-shaped motifs create a protective visual rhythm rooted in ancestral symbolism. While the structure of the ornament remains historically faithful, the color palette has been reinterpreted. Soft creamy tones meet deep black and vibrant red — allowing tradition to breathe in a contemporary context.
This is a historical replica with an author’s reinterpretation — a bridge between heritage and modern identity.  Original Comely UA design.
